I was born in Rochdale in 1964. A year later the family moved to Australia, where we had a childhood of sunshine, light and warmth. In 1971 we made our way back to England by boat, which took six weeks of travels, visiting New Zealand, Panama Canal, Tahiti and Africa. I remember arriving in England and thinking how cold and dirty it was, everything seemed to be in black and white.
In 1982 I bought a camera Ricoh KR10 and visited the greek island of Kephalonia shooting 3 rolls of Black and White film, thats how it all started. Since then I have gained a BA Honns, had my first exhibition in New York, met Terry O’Neil, David Bailey, Don McCullin and George Tyce. I have a book "Made in the North" published and 5 portraits in The National Portrait Gallery, London permanent collection.
